Your child’s enrolment and lessons at AHA! Academy (“The Centre”, "we", "us", or "our") is subjected to the Terms and Conditions as listed below.
Parents/Guardians are requested to sign on the Terms and Conditions in recognition of their acceptance of these Terms and Conditions, which will apply upon enrolment at The Centre:
1 LEARNING ARRANGEMENT
There may be two types of learning arrangements for our programmes:
1.1 Onsite Classes
Your child will be enrolled in a permanent onsite class where lessons are conducted onsite at our Centre every week based on the scheduled day and time.
*In the event the national Safe Management Measures do not allow for the full onsite learning arrangement, we will be implementing the full online learning arrangement. We will not be holding hybrid lesson arrangement for the well-being of both students and coaches.
1.2 Online Classes
Your child will be enrolled in a permanent digital class where lessons are conducted live via Zoom every week based on the scheduled day and time.
1.3 Assignments and Materials
Only topical tests & graded assignments given during classes will be marked for all learning arrangements. Homework that is given during classes will be reviewed together as a class and will not be marked. The answers will be uploaded to our Members Page for students to download.
For online classes, the lesson materials will be distributed to students through the Members Page. For onsite lessons, student will receive the materials directly during onsite lessons.
2 COURSE TERMS
2.1 The Centre’s course terms are segmented into four periods in a given year:
- Term 1: January to March
- Term 2: April to June
- Term 3: July to September
- Term 4: October to November (not applicable for Primary 6)
For the 2023 academic year, weekly lessons will be commencing on 3 January 2023 (Tuesday).
3 COURSE FEES
3.1 All fees are transacted in Singapore Dollars unless stated otherwise.
3.2 Upon registration of new students, The Centre will collect a one-time registration fee of $100.
3.3 The Centre will collect the respective course fees prior to the lesson in each month, based on the number of billable lessons.
3.4 Lessons missed due to public holidays will be excluded from the fee computation.
3.5 Fees for each month are due on the following dates:
- Month of January 2023: Due on 23 December 2022
- Month of February 2023: Due on 25 January 2023
- Month of March 2023: Due on 22 February 2023
- Month of April 2023: Due on 25 March 2023
- Month of May 2023: Due on 24 April 2023
- Month of June & July 2023: Due on 25 May 2023
- Month of August 2023: Due on 25 July 2023
- Month of September 2023: Due on 25 August 2023
- Month of October & November 2023: Due on 23 September 2023
- Month of January 2024: Due on 22 December 2023
3.6 Course fees must be paid in full, by the due dates stated above. Following the deadline, a late payment surcharge of $25 will be imposed.
3.7 All lessons are paid for in advance.
3.8 All receipts will be issued via email. Please retain the receipts for verification purposes.
3.9 All payments made are strictly non-refundable, non-transferable and non-negotiable.
4 PAYMENT MODES
We accept payment in the following mediums:
4.1 PayNow: Unique Entity Number (UEN) – “202210801C” through the eShop payment module. [Most preferred and least hassle for all parties.]
4.2 ATM/Bank Transfer to “UOB Business Account 375 312 0961”. You are required to indicate your child’s full name in the Reference field of the bank transfer form to facilitate The Centre’s administrative duties. After which, you are required to update us through email immediately after payment has been made.
4.3 We DO NOT accept cash payment at our centre.
5 TERMINATION
5.1 The Centre requires the student to be enrolled for a minimum of one month. No mid-month withdrawal is allowed.
5.2 The Centre will not be able to offer any refund or fee credit if your child chooses to terminate classes with us.
6 ABSENCE/ MAKE-UP LESSONS
6.1 The Centre’s 2023 academic week starts on Monday and ends on Sunday.
6.2 A student is entitled to 1 make-up lesson per month regardless of the reason for absence. There is strictly no fee credit if a student is absent for the second time in a month except for medical reason / compassionate reason, subject to documentation proof.
6.3 Make-up lessons will be offered on a best-effort basis subjected to The Centre’s discretion and class availability. If offered, it must be attended within the same academic week of the original class at the same academic level.
6.4 Make-up lesson quota cannot be accumulated and carried forward to the next month.
6.5 Request for make-up classes shall be made at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance and no earlier than thirty (30) days in advance.
6.6 Once a make-up lesson has been arranged, your child’s original slot for that week will be released to other students who are seeking make-up opportunities.
6.7 The Centre will not be able to offer a second make-up class or fee credit if your child missed his/her scheduled make-up lesson, regardless of the circumstance.
6.8 If the make-up lesson is scheduled in an onsite class, the lesson will be attended onsite at our Centre. If the make-up lesson is scheduled in a digital class, the lesson will be attended digitally via Zoom.
7 ILLNESS
7.1 Your child should not attend onsite lessons if they show any signs of illnesses (such as fever, coughing, sneezing or vomiting). This is to safeguard the well-being of all students and coaches in the classroom. A child showing symptoms of illness will be required to be taken home immediately.
7.2 If your child has contracted any childhood diseases, such as chickenpox, hand, foot and mouth disease or measles, or any contagious disease such as Covid, you must notify The Centre and keep him or her at home until the quarantine period is over.
7.3 In the interest of your child’s well-being whilst in The Centre’s care, The Centre must be informed of any medical or other conditions affecting your child.
8 STUDENTS’ RESPONSIBILITIES
8.1 Students should be aware that they are attending the course(s) to study and are expected to behave responsibly at all times.
8.2 Activities that would cause disturbance to other students or The Centre, will result in instant dismissal from the course. In such cases, no fee refund will be made.
8.3 Students have the responsibility to file their lesson materials (notes, worksheets, diagnostic tests). Additional fees will be incurred in the event that the materials are missing and a reprint is needed.
8.4 Students are not allowed to share or disseminate any material by The Centre to anyone who is not a student from The Centre.
8.5 Students who are found committing the above offence may be subjected to instant dismissal from The Centre. In such cases, no fee refund will be made.
9 ACADEMIC YEAR & CLOSURE
9.1 The 2023 academic year commences on the 3 January 2023 and ends on 28 November 2023 for Primary 3 to Primary 5 and 2 October 2023 for Primary 6 students.
9.2 The Centre will not be conducting any regular weekly lessons between the end of the current academic year to the commencement of the next academic year.
9.3 The Centre runs other premium courses and programmes during the school holidays (i.e. March, June, September and December).
9.4 There will not be any lessons conducted on the following gazetted National Public Holidays & Centre Declared Holidays:

10 THE CENTRE’S RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
10.1 Parents and students are prohibited from recording the onsite or online lessons in any form, including but not limited to audio, video and screenshots/photos. Any parent or student found recording any part of our lessons will be terminated immediately. In such cases, no fee refund will be arranged.
10.2 Course fees may be changed and the services offered may be withdrawn at any time. In the above cases, The Centre will give at least four (4) weeks advance notice to the student. However, course fees will not be varied when a course is in progress within the month.
10.3 The Centre reserves the right to cancel a course if it is undersubscribed. In this case, students will be given a full refund of fees paid for the unattended lessons.
10.4 Queries pertaining to any external materials brought in by students will only be answered or handled at the coaches’ discretion and convenience.
10.5 The Centre reserves the right to change the coaches if it deems necessary and conduct the programs and classes in any manner it deems appropriate.
10.6 Parents are updated on the latest information through emails or newsletters and notices served to their children in classes.
10.7 Parents are advised not to talk to coaches during lessons and between classes. This is to avoid affecting the progress of lesson and also the time for the coaches to rest before the next class.
10.8 Private negotiation or engaging in business with or hiring of The Centre’s staff, coaches or partners is strictly prohibited.
11 PHOTOGRAPHS/ RECORDINGS
11.1 Parents shall permit The Centre and its Staff to record their child’s image, work or voice for publicity, promotional, publishing or educational purposes.
11.2 The Centre will need you to fill in the media opt-out form if you wish to express your intention to opt out from the above clause 11.1 (FORM)
11.3 The Centre has round-the-clock surveillance systems installed within the premises to ensure the safety and security of their students.
11.4 Parents and students are not allowed to make photographic, video and/or other recordings inside our classrooms or premises unless you have obtained prior consent from The Centre.
12 INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
12.1 Unless otherwise stated, all intellectual property rights in notes, worksheets, tests and course/lesson materials (whether in written, electronic, audio, visual or other forms) created, assembled, published and/or distributed by The Centre (“Course Materials”) are, and remain, the property of The Centre or its licensors (“The Centre’s IP”). Nothing in these Terms and Conditions grants parents/guardians and/or students any ownership of or rights in respect of any of The Centre’s IP.
12.2 Parents/Guardians and students must not infringe or use The Centre’s IP and/or Course Materials for any purpose other than the sole purpose of using the Course Materials to participate in The Centre’s courses. Parents/Guardians and students are not authorised to copy, reproduce, modify, upload, share, disseminate, sell and/or commercially exploit any of the Course Materials without The Centre’s prior written permission.
12.3 Breach of this clause 12.2 may, without limiting any other right or remedy The Centre may have, result in instant dismissal of the student from The Centre. In such case, no fee refund will be made.
13 INDEMNITY
13.1 While The Centre and its Staff will exercise the utmost care and precautions to ensure the safety of every student during classes, parents accept that mishaps and accidents may occur due to circumstances beyond The Centre’s control. Therefore, all parents agree that The Centre cannot be held liable for such incidents and will thus indemnify The Centre against such liability.
13.2 Parents or guardians will accept full liability for any damage caused by the student to premises where programmes are conducted.
13.3 The Centre will not be responsible or liable for the loss of any personal property on The Centre’s premises.
13.4 Upon the dismissal of classes, The Centre will not be responsible for the whereabouts of the students. Hence, The Centre seeks the kind cooperation of all parents and guardians. Herein thereof, parents are advised to take note of their children’s dismissal times and arrange for prompt pick-up.
14 Effect of Terms & Conditions and Changes to Terms & Conditions
14.1 This Terms & Conditions applies in conjunction with any other notices, contractual clauses and consent clauses that apply.
14.2 We may revise this Terms & Conditions from time to time without any prior notice. You may determine if any such revision has taken place by referring to the date on which this Terms & Conditions was last updated. Your continued use of our services constitutes your acknowledgement and acceptance of such changes.
